Our vineyards

The province of Salta has some of the highest and most privileged regions for growing grapes in the Calchaquí Valleys. There, the extreme height of the ground meets edges that shape a unique landscape, where Altupalka combines the best of its high-density vineyards, which are among the highest in the world, with a meticulous work to create complex wines that offer the perfect amalgam between terroir and varietal.

Our project is governed in each of its steps and processes, by the desire to make excellent quality wines.

Extreme Altitude Wines

Altupalka has vineyards in the department of Cafayate, 1,750 meters above sea level, where its 40 hectares are home to Malbec and Torrontés plantations; and in Molinos, 2,600 meters above sea level, of whose 100 hectares, 14 are planted with Malbec and Sauvignon blanc. The combination of varieties and terroirs give a special character to its wines, highlighted by the extreme height and the high quality of the raw material used.

Cafayate has granitic sand soils without salts and well water obtained at great depth (220 meters). In Molinos the soils are also granite sand; they have homogeneity and sanity. It is a valley surrounded by mountains over 3,500 meters high. The meltwater that runs from the mountain is conducted using drip irrigation without electric pumps.

In order to take advantage of the optimal natural conditions of the plantations in all their splendor, the winery puts the greatest possible care in each section of the production process, offering non-negotiable quality in each of its bottles.
